With operations in more than 100 countries, the company is run on the principles of strong corporate governance, a clear system of delegating accountability, and a commitment to integrity in all its business dealings.
The client has nearly 100,000 employees globally and annual revenues of over $280 billion.
The Challenge
As a major energy supplier, the client has a responsibility to provide clear reports on all aspects of its business.
One of the most significant and highly anticipated of these is the widely distributed Sustainability Report. This report includes information on client’ present and future plans for renewing assets, creating and delivering better products and services that meet the evolving needs of society, attracting successive generations of employees, contributing to a sustainable environment, and retaining the trust and support of its customers, shareholders, and the communities in which the company operates.
With a target audience that would include government and industry professionals all over the world, client’s Sustainability Report had to be made available in German, Spanish, and Russian. The translations needed to be prepared and published with the highest level of accuracy, and because of the time-sensitive nature of the report’s content, there was a strict deadline by which the process had to be completed.
The Solution
With extensive experience providing high-volume translations to many Global 100 companies, LingArch was able to assemble an expert project management team whose members were familiar with this type of project. The team needed to be able to deliver the report on time while meeting the high standards for quality that client had set.
The involvement of technically trained linguists with subject-matter expertise meant that LingArch could provide client’s in-country staff with the translated, edited, and proofread versions of the report in each language with sufficient time for review. Once client’s reviewers approved the translations, the document translations were typeset and proofread once more prior to going to print.
The end result was the publication of a multilingual, 60-page Sustainability Report that has won international acclaim and several prestigious awards around the world. The global recognition garnered by this report has helped to fuel client’s reputation for outstanding economic, social, and environmental responsibility.
